Wednesday February 9th, 2011

Happy Hump day everyone. I say that unenthusiastically because  I don't know about you, but this has been one of the longest weeks ever. It's like that time of year, otherwise known as the middle of winter abyss, that you just can't escape no matter what you do because you know in the back of your mind that there are still 3 months of cold ahead of you. Brutal. Lets talk headlines and what's rockin' your pop culture world today.

The Beatles playing their first show at The Cavern Club circa 1961
The Cavern Club - Liverpool, England
It was 50 years ago today that The Beatles made their legendary debut in Liverpool England's The Cavern Club. Interesting side-note: Did you know that John Lennon used to play the Cavern Club with his former band the Quarrymen in 1957. At that time the "Club" had a strict NO Rock & roll policy, but that didn't stop Lennon from playing Elvis Presley renditions.
