Its finally here! The official Coachella 2011 Lineup has arrived, and I couldn't help but feel a hint of disappointment. Kings Of Leon, Arcade Fire and Kanye are the festival headliners, and while this eclectic mix is pretty strong to boot, I guess I was just expecting something more. What happened to the Days of Radiohead, Rage or The Cure? Don't get me wrong, I do love KOL as much as the next guy, but come on, aren't they kind of overplayed by now? Apologies for my cynicism, this is like the ninth day in a row that the weather has sucked and the perpetual rain/sleet/darkness is starting to get the best of me. Suck it sucky weather! Ok, back to the positive..I am pretty pumped about Arcade Fire (always a stellar performance,) Black Keys, Death From Above, Duran Duran, Wiz Khalifa (Black & Yellow), Brandon Flowers and Sleigh Bells to name a few. Not to mention, Coachella as a festival is really one of a kind. The scene is utterly amazing, and you can't beat three days of music and hippies/hipsters all coexisting in the open Indio desert. Coachella, here I come!
